Meeting Minutes – REGULAR Meeting

Meeting called to order at 6:31pm

 

Regular club officers present Dave Coleman, Gayle Buske,  Bob Cole, Bob Morss

Not present:  Mike Fedel, Mike Ardoin

General members present:  Jim Buske, John Tjossem,  Nick Peck, Tony Schmidt, Stuart Middleton-White, Debby Loberger, John Nelson, Marc Ulasik

Non members present: 

Minutes:  Minutes from 02.18.13 were approved with no changes.

President’s report by Bob Morss

1.       Building has been knocked down.

2.       Tony has spoken with Randy Gardner at Ridgway fire department.  They say they will help us burn the building.  Club will save $2,000 in removal fees.

Treasurer’s report by Barbara Cole (submitted by proxy)

Account balance:  $10,646.79

Bills:      No new bills.

Income:               $270 in memberships, donations and renewals

                                $1,200 received in March for renewals and new memberships

Treasurer’s report accepted.

Unfinished Business

1.       Tony Schmidt, Nick Peck, Kyle Benke have not had a chance to work on trap/skeet as of yet.  Will by next meeting.

2.       Barbara researching 501(c)3 with Parker.

New Business

1.       Gayle asked permission to sell 100 rounds of gun club 9mm ammo at $.34/round to help someone wanting to take a CHP class.  Passed unanimously.  She will collect the money and bring to next meeting.

2.       Christen Davis and Lezah Saunders want to get a regular women's shoot day going.  Will meet with them before next meeting.

3.       John Nelson announcement for CASA fundraiser.

4.       Question was raised as to whether law enforcement can use range.  Dave filled us in on a previous hand-shake agreement:  "agreed way back under Zortman that the departments could use the range for qualifying but for individual LEO use, each LEO needed to be a member of the club"

5.       Bob Morss will talk to Scotty about use of the range.

Pending to-do items

1)      Get rid of building.  $3000 approved in 2012 budget to accomplish

2)      Finish rifle station $1500 was approved at Sept 2011 meeting

a.       Handrail

b.      Cover for rifle station

3)      Revise SOPs

4)      Weeds - ongoing

5)      Post signs on each lane noting what the lane is approved for (i.e. pistol only on north range, etc.)

6)      New gate – add to master plan

7)      Mike Fedel will try to get the range plan done

8)      Sign for gate

9)      Web cams for range (x4):  gate, each range lane

10)   Marty Flowers—4H kids use of range?  (Gayle)

a.       Liability waivers from parents;

b.      Clean up after use;

c.       Kids assist with range events (i.e. clean up days, WOT, shoots, etc.)

d.      Why expelled from Montrose range?

e.      Parents members of club?

f.        Student to instructor ratio;

g.       Gayle will sit down with Marty this winter to discuss all aspects and come up with a plan to present to the board.  Marty will be heading this up as opposed to Rod Hodge.

11)   Fundraisers

12)   Robert McGowan has about 1000 feet of drill pipe that he’d like to donate to the gun club.  This needs to be allocated

a)      Annual Meeting/BBQ/Open House/Range Clean up is April 20 at the range at 10:00 am
